Getting started

For designers

1. Read Color, Typography and Language and locale.
2. Design with roles (primary, text, surface) and type roles (heading2, body, label); never a raw hex or size.
3. Draft English copy first, under 20 characters for buttons and tabs; check the four locales on the language page.
4. Apply the patterns; propose a new one with the same shape.

For developers

1. npm install @jinnga/design-system (workspace) and build the Tamagui config from tamagui.tokens.js (see Tokens).
2. Web outside React Native: link tokens.css and use the custom properties.
3. Never hard-code a visual value; the lint rule rejects it.
4. Every string lives in the four locale resources; the build fails on a missing key.

Contributing to the system

Changes to tokens or patterns run through the evolve-design-system flow in the repository: frame the need, change the source, pass the contrast checks, verify both themes and four locales, open a PR. Merging publishes this site.
